Hi there, I'm Kytha Gernatt, and I've been dedicated to helping San Francisco's busy families and professionals to have happier lives with their dogs since 1999. I started as a dog walker and began using positive reinforcement in 2005 with my own dog, Goldie, a rescued pit bull with cut off ears and some reactivity issues. To help Goldie to stop lunging and barking and pulling while on-leash I delved into the world of R+ (positive reinforcement) training and have been continuously expanding my knowledge ever since.
My dog training education includes The Dog Training Internship Academy (2020), The Canine Behavior Academy (2012), The Shelter Playgroup Alliance (2023) and Michael Shikashio's Master Course on Dog Aggression (2023). I regularly attend conferences, seminars, and lectures on dogs, learning, and scientific advancements. Just like all mammals, I find joy in learning through fun and rewarding methods!
I'm a proud member of the Pet Professional Guild and THRIVE!, a dogbiz© membership for R+ trainers. I also teach group classes for puppies, adolescents and adult dogs at Prime Paw in SF.
When I'm not training dogs, I express my creativity as a professional artist, thru painting, poetry, singing, writing and producing songs. I'm a sensitive soul and have a heart for helping others to live in more peace and harmony. I look forward to helping you and your dog.
