Hi there, I'm Kytha Gernatt, and I've been dedicated to helping San Francisco's busy families and professionals to have happier lives with their dogs since 1999. I started as a dog walker and began using positive reinforcement by training my own dog, Goldie, a rescued pit bull with cut off ears and some reactivity issues.
My dog training education includes:
The Canine Behavior Academy (2012). The Dog Training Internship Academy (2020), The Shelter Playgroup Alliance (2023) and Michael Shikashio's Master Course on Dog Aggression (2023). I regularly attend conferences, seminars, and lectures on dogs, learning, and scientific advancements. Lke all mammals, I find joy in learning through safe, fun and rewarding ways!
I'm a proud member of the Pet Professional Guild and THRIVE!, a dogbiz© membership for R+ trainers.
When I'm not training dogs, I express my creativity as a professional artist, thru painting, poetry, singing, writing and producing songs. You can see my work here. Before I was a dog professional I worked with unhoused individuals running a free art studio in the Tenderloin of San Francisco, Hospitality House. I'm also a founding member of City Art, an artist owned and operated gallery on Valencia Street in SF. I'm a sensitive soul and have a heart for helping all animals to live in more peace and harmony. I look forward to helping you and your dog.
